MYOB V15

+ The Company Data Auditor

In the new versions of MYOB (Accounting/Plus v15 and Premier v9) you can now check the integrity of your data on a more regular basis by using the new Company Data Auditor. With just a click of the mouse you'll have instant answers to your accountant's questions!

+ File information

The opening screen of the Company Data Auditor provides information such as the file name, the version of MYOB you're using, the size of the file, the last time it was backed up and verified, whether it has been locked for a previous period. It also specifies the version of payroll tax tables you're using. From this first screen you can also perform tasks like locking the periods or doing a backup.

+ Account Reconciliation

Within the Company Data Auditor is an 'Account Reconciliation Review' which shows you and your accountant the bank and credit card accounts that have been reconciled and when. You can also reconcile these accounts and view transactions.

+ Data Exception Review

Your accountant will love this new feature of MYOB, and so will you. It will save them time, and save you money on accounting fees. The Data Exception Review provides your accountant (and you if you choose to review this before sending them the file) with all the necessary reconciliation reports. It also identifies any problems within your file. By clicking the Run Review button, the Company Data Auditor will:
advise whether the control accounts balance, such as Debtors, Creditors and Inventory
identify transactions with a future date
list changes made to transactions, tax codes or system preferences by each user so you can identify who entered data or made changes and when (through the audit trail)
compare the GST codes used on a transaction against the default GST codes assigned to that account.

After you've run the Data Exception Review, reports are available through this area which detail the problem transactions. This enables you to fix any problems before sending the file to your accountant.
